Why I Shoot Weddings in a Documentary Style

My approach to wedding photography is all about capturing real, unscripted moments. I focus on storytelling rather than stiff poses, so when you look back at your photos, you’ll remember exactly how your day felt—not just how it looked. This approach came from my other line of work - documentary filmmaking and photography where I mostly work with biology, wildlife and people who dedicated their life to saving our environment. Similarly to the wedding photography - the goal is to capture the essence of what is happening there to tell that visual story in a best possible, compelling way.

Genuine Emotions Over Staged Shots

I want you to experience your wedding fully, without worrying about constant direction. The way your partner looks at you during the vows, the way your family reacts during speeches, the laughter, the quiet moments—these are the details that make your wedding unique, and I’m there to capture them naturally.

Most importantly im trying not to get on your way too much and not distract you from having fun.

Less Posing, More Presence

My goal is for you to feel comfortable and completely in the moment. Instead of pulling you away for endless staged photos, I blend into the background and document the day as it unfolds—so you can focus on celebrating.

Capturing the Small, Meaningful Moments

Some of the most beautiful moments happen when no one is paying attention. A hug from your grandparents, your friends tearing up during your first dance, the little interactions that make the day yours—these are the shots that truly tell your story.

A Timeless, Honest Wedding Collection

I want your wedding photos to bring you back to the emotions of the day, not just a collection of pretty images. Documentary-style photography lets me create something real, raw, and timeless—so you can relive every moment for years to come and share it with close ones and someday with your kids.
